Changing Lives One Life At A Time!

"The thief does not come except to steal and to kill and to destroy; I have come that you might have life and that you might have it more abundantly."   --Jesus

John 10:10 (NKJV)

To really understand the statement above, its important that we come to a better understanding of the word "abundance."  Most dictionaries define it as "plentiful" or "bountiful."  A quick search through several different scriptural translations finds the use of such synonyms as "wealth," "plenty," and even "safety."

The phrase “more abundantly” is a relative phrase.  According to Jesus, we can live life “more abundantly” tomorrow than we are living it today.  If we’re living life in the gutter, it’s easy to picture a “more abundant” tomorrow.  But even if we are living reasonably well today, the message is still the same:  “There is a better way!”

When we read this passage in the New International Version (NIV), the phrase “more abundantly” is translated as “to the full.”  Life “to the full” is still a relative phrase, but it’s not relative to our current condition.  It is not relative to how we are experiencing life today.  It is relative to our capacity to experience life.  Experiencing life better tomorrow than we are experiencing it today is certainly a good and noble thing.  But experiencing it at full capacity is even better!

The Abundant Life Project TM was created to introduce people to a “more abundant” way of living.  It was founded on the promise of Jesus in John 10:10, as well the ancient words of Scripture found throughout the Bible:

You let men ride over our heads, we went through fire and water,

but you brought us out of a place of abundance."

Psalm 66:12

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you

and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

                                                                                                        Jeremiah 29:11

“You prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies.  You anoint my

head with oil, my cup over flows.  Surely goodness and mercy will follow me

all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
